MASCAGNI commit to traditional Italian creativity and design, with the technical and productive capabilities of the manufacturing industry, and so this is the aspect that characterises it in its strategy and products. Mascagni S.p.A. was established in Bologna in 1930 by its founder Umberto. Initially, its work was linked exclusively to the production of picture and photograph frames. After the war, with the addition of Mario, Umberto’s son, to the company, the range was expanded for the home and other furnishings. In 1955, the head office moved to Casalecchio di Reno and, in 1964 the plant in Pezzan d’Istrana (TV) was opened, where furniture for executive offices is manufactured.
With Mario’s sons, Paolo and Michele, the third generation entered the company staff during the ‘80s. In 1990, the Riccò di Fornovo (PR) plant was added, which in 2001 moved to Rubbiano di Solignano (PR) and where office and community seats are manufactured. In 1999, the Company had already proved itself to be able to move with the times and obtained the UNI EN ISO 9001:94 certificate. On the 23rd July 2002, it obtained the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 certificate for quality management systems in the furniture and seating sector. MASCAGNI operates in Italy and throughout the world by means of a network of specialised distributors.
Thanks to its collaboration with well-known designers, the entire production cycle takes place completely within the company. Apart from subjecting the individual pieces to strict checks at its own plants, the Company entrusts the quality tests to one of the most qualified institutes in the sector, which provides for checking for the UNI EN certificate, both from the point of view of the materials used and the finished products. Each year, 20,000 work stations, 50,000 seats, 2,000,000 picture frames and various fitting designs are produced, that unite the traditional “Italian style” creativity with the technical and production capabilities of the manufacturing industry.
Mascagni has three manufacturing plants: Casalecchio di Reno (near Bologna),23,000 covered square meters and 200 employees working wood/metal/plastic; Treviso, 12.000 covered square meters and 40 employees working panels, sheared and solid wood, and paintwork; Parma, 2500 covered square meters with 20 employees, producing textiles for furniture and accessories.
